ITINERARY
Day 01 – Calama / San Pedro De Atacama
Arrive at Calama airport, where our transportation will be waiting to take you to the hotel in San Pedro de Atacama, the trip from Calama is approximately 1 hour, and accommodation in Hotel La Cochera or similar.
Day 02 – San Pedro De Atacama
Around 05:00 hrs, we’ll take our transport for a journey of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes until we reach one of the highest geyser fields in the world, the Tatio Geysers, during the journey we will appreciate the flora and fauna of the area. In addition, we will know the ancestral town of Machuca and we will delight with the Salt Lagoon. We will return to San Pedro de Atacama.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit the spectacular Valley of the Moon, a desert spot with particular and impressive geological formations that, with the action of wind and water, create a surface similar to that of the moon. In this tour, we will contemplate the Salt Caves, the Dune Mayor, and the Ckari Gorge, among others. At the end of the tour, we will return to San Pedro de Atacama and spend the night at the Hotel La Cochera or similar.
Day 03 – San Pedro De Atacama / Uyuni
Early in the morning, our transportation will pick us up at the hotel to transfer them to Hito Cajon, where we will make the formalities to pass the Chilean and Bolivian customs. After having made our customs formalities, we will go to the high Andean salty lagoon of Bolivia, the beautiful Green Lagoon; we will continue our journey until the famous Tomorrow’s Sun Geysers and we will finish our day with The Visit to the Colorada Lagoon, where we will be able to appreciate the spectacular Flamingos. Tonight, we will sleep in the hotel Tayka del Desierto or similar.
Day 04 – Uyuni
In the morning, we will leave towards the Valle de los Sapos (Valley of the Toads) where we will observe some magnificent rock formations as a consequence of erosion; also visit the villages of Culpina and Alota; the church of San Cristóbal and finally visit the Inka Wasi Island, where we will walk through the valley of the giant cacti. At the end of the tour, our transport will take us to the village of Colchani, where we’ll spend the night in the hotel Palacio de Sal or similar.
Day 05 – Uyuni / La Paz
We will leave our hotel in the morning towards the Salar de Uyuni; we’ll see the Ojos del Salar, which are small eruptions of water flowing under the surface, and then go to the artisan market of Colchani, where you will be able to visit the artisan workshops and also be able to see the processing of the salt. If you wish you can buy some typical textiles or crafts made of salt; Afterwards, we will approach the monument of the Dakar and finish our tour visiting the Cemetery of Trains; after the visit, our transport will take you to the airport or to the terminal of Uyuni, where you will take our flight/bus to La Paz.
