  • For clients who are coming from areas of less than 1000 m of altitude, we recommend that you spend at least 2-3 days in Cusco before the tour to acclimatize.
  • Layered clothing; the days should be fairly sunny and pleasant (averaging around 20-22 degrees Celsius or 68-71 degrees Fahrenheit), while the nights are quite cold (around 0-3 degrees Celsius or 32-37 degrees Fahrenheit). The weather can change at any time and while it is not rainy season, it is possible that it may rain and be quite windy so a good jacket for rain and wind is a good idea, as are thermals or a down jacket. You can buy woollen scarves, gloves, beanies, etc. here in Peru quite cheaply.
  • Please note there are two different Rainbow Mountains to visit, one is the now popular Vinicunca with the iconic rainbow shape, and the other is the lesser known Palcoyo, which has more than one coloured mountain.
