This trip combines the best of the Lares Valley, and the fascinating archaeological remains of Ollantaytambo and Machupicchu. Our first stop will be in the colonial town of Lares, where we can take a relaxation bath in the Thermal Baths before the walk. After that we will begin our walk through the Andes Mountains.
Every day is calm, with enough time, to enjoy the incredible landscape, the Ollantaytambo, we will see the Past of the Culture of the Incas, which still remains in its inhabitants, after that, we will make a short train trip to km 104, Here we continue with our walk to Machu Picchu, one of the most important and famous archaeological remains.
ITINERARY
DAY 1: CUSCO – LARES HOTSPRINGS – CUNCANI – HUACAWASI.
Approximately at 6:30hrs we pick up for the passengers in the hotel with direction to the village of Lares where we will begin the walk. We will make a stop in the village of Calca, where we will be able to visit the local market and buy breakfasts or other products that have been forgotten. Upon arrival in Lares, we will head to the hot springs while our cooks prepare a wonderful lunch. We will also be able to appreciate the local tradition of weaving with wool activity that the locals have maintained for many years. After lunch, we will begin the hike to the first camp at Huacawasi, located at approximately 3600masl / 11811ft. We will walk for about 4 hours, gradually uphill which will help us for the next day’s hike where we will reach the highest point of the trek. Upon arrival at Huacawasi, we will have the camp ready, where we will have dinner and spend the first night together with our riders who will join us and accompany us on the following days.

DAY 2: HUACAWASI – SONDOR – PASO HUACAWASI C’ASA – ARURAY COCHA – PUCARÁ
After a delicious and energetic breakfast, we will start walking towards the highest point of the trek, the Huacawasi C’asa pass located at 4500masl /14763 feet. The hike is uphill and lasts about 4 hours. During the trek we will enjoy the spectacular mountains that surround us, agricultural lands and breathtaking views of the Peruvian Andes. After reaching the highest point, we will descend and pass through beautiful lagoons and make a stop to rest while our cooks prepare a delicious lunch. After lunch, we will continue descending through a forest where we will be able to appreciate the “Queuñas” (Polylepis – a typical three species of Peru), flora and fauna of this zone. We will arrive at our campsite in Pucará located at approximately 3000 m.a.s.l., we will enjoy snacks before dinner. Overnight

DAY 3: PUCARÁ – OLLANTAYTAMBO
Early in the morning, we will pick up our things to start our hike to Yanahuara, from here we will continue to Pachar, visit some small archaeological ruins and then take the transport that will take us to Ollantaytambo, in the village, we will have our lunch. Around 13:00, we can visit the Archeológical place of Ollantaytambo and rest on the hotel

DAY 4: OLLANTAYTAMBO – KM 104 – AGUAS CALIENTES
We will take the train to KM 104, from this point we will start our hiking until Wiñaywayna (an archaeological site in Inca trail to Machu Picchu).
In the afternoon we will pass by Machupicchu depending on the people we will walk down or take the bus to Aguas Calientes and spend the night in a hotel there

DAY 5: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
Early morning, we will take the bus up to Machu Picchu, our guide will explain to us everything about this marvel and for around 2 hours. After it we will have extra free time.
Take the bus down to Aguas Calientes and extra free time for lunch(not included).

NOTES:
- In our shared services, we will pick up our customers from their hotel as long as they are in the city centre.
- In our shared services, at the end of the tour, we leave our customers in a place near the Main Square, it is easier to return to your hotel walking than go by bus, because the traffic is terrible. If your hotel is far from the city center, take extra cash to take a taxi.
- The pick up and arrival times are referential, this will depend on the traffic that can be found in the streets or the delay of other customers, our assistant will arrive on time to your hotel, but sometimes the transport could be delayed a few minutes.
- We reserve trains from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo or Poroy at specific times based on availability, and then plan the transfers for those times. If the passenger changes his train ticket at the last minute, the transfers from Ollantaytambo or Poroy to Cusco, can no longer be provided since it is a collective service and the transfers are scheduled for the time initially reserved.
