Hiking Palccoyo Colored Mountain( This route will not go to Vinicunca classic Mountain, this is a new option where we can avoid the hundreds of people that go to Vinicunca every day)
Enjoy the beautiful views of colors offered by this tour, the color tone is puts for the state of the climate of the moment; when is clouded their colors will be fainter or darker and if the day is sunny colors will be clearer. During our journey we will have the opportunity to appreciate the 7 varieties of camelids (llama, alpaca, guanaco, vicuna, Andean deer, etc.) and on a good day we can see the biggest birds in the world in their habitat the Condor and hopefully we will see the Andean cat, the Puma.
ITINERARY
At 04:30 a.m. we are going to leave Cusco in our private vehicle heading towards Checacupe, after it, we’ll go to Pitumarca, the estimated travel time is 3 hours once there we will continue for a dirt road. We are going to start our hiking around 1 hour, we will have the opportunity to see 3 small colorful mountains and a forest of stones(we will walk 1.5 km approx.). the Palcoyo Mountain, is located at 4900 m.a.s.l. we will spend 1 hour more exploring all these places. After the visit we will return by the same road, after lunch we’ll return to Cusco in our private vehicle, arriving to Cusco between 5:00 to 6:00 pm. approx.

RECOMMENDATIONS
- For clients who are coming from areas of less than 1000 m of altitude, we recommend that you spend at least 2-3 days in Cusco before the tour to acclimatize.
- This is a different route, this route not go to Vinicunca, we are going to another Colorful Mountain called Palccoyo, it is a similar Valley but with less people, we orgaize only private tours.
NOTES
- Please note: In the rainy season (December – March), sometimes at 4,000 masl there is snow, and the rainbow mountain may be covered with snow, if this happens, it will not be possible to see the colors (This escapes our organization).
- In our shared services, we will pick up our customers from their hotel as long as they are in the city centre.
- In our shared services, at the end of the tour, we leave our customers in a place near the Main Square, it is easier to return to your hotel walking than to go in the bus, because the traffic is terrible. If your hotel is far from the city center, take extra cash to take a taxi.
- The pick up and arrival times are referential, this will depend on the traffic that can be found in the streets or the delay of other customers, our assistant will arrive on time to your hotel, but sometimes the transport could be delayed a few minutes.
